My first time trying Mexican food in Japan! Wasn’t really sure what to expect but I must say, the portions were super small compared to what I’m used to being served at a Mexican restaurant in California. But that’s to be expected since most meal portions are just smaller here in Japan. Here’s a yelp link to the restaurant I visited. I totally meant to get an exterior shot but I forgot!
To get started we ordered some beer, I really wish they had modelo but corona was just as good! My friend ordered a goose ipa which I had never tried before but it ended up being tasty. I still preferred the proper combo of Mexican food & Mexican beer.
For food we ordered a quesadilla and nachos. When the food came out I was confused where the rest went haha. Especially for quesadillas, I’m used to them hanging over the edge of the plate and causing an instant food coma, that wasn’t the case here. The flavor was fairly nice, the salsa they provided added a nice touch but could have been spicier. Nachos aren’t something I typically order because I don’t like dealing with soggy chips, these nachos weren’t a mountain so they didn’t get very soggy. They had a great taste and I loved the cilantro, I just wish the plate was a little more full. But I guess depending on where they source their ingredients, they probably alter their portion size to match overhead and profit. Understandable.
Overall, I would say I was pretty impressed but now I want to try other Mexican food spots in Japan to see how they compare. Let the games begin! 行きましょ!
Also, after looking at these photos, I’m thinking I might turn my photo/video production into some type of business…
