Finally picked up this lens that I’ve been wanting for a while. Mostly because I want to do more portrait photography. I was able to score it off of japan yahoo auction for just under $300 which was the lowest I saw it going for. I also picked up a ND filter and 1/8 pro mist filter for it. I’ve had some time to play around with it so here’s a few photos that I like.
First, one of the lens itself.
On this night I went out to dotonbori to take portraits of strangers but when it came down to it, I was too nervous lol. I was able to snipe a cool candid portrait though!
This image is cropped in but I really like it, I really wish the subject and the landscape were both level but this is the natural view so I left it that way. If I made the landscape straight, then the guy would be crooked haha.
A couple nice hondas leaving the marble beach parking area.
Here’s one of Jake throwing some reverse entries on Meihan E course, this lens isn’t quite deep enough for the type of shot I was going for, so this is also a a crop. The harsh sunlight didn’t make things any easier either.
Back to the reason why I bought this lens, portraits! I saw this beautiful family taking photos and I asked if I could take some for them. Turned out really nice I think. I wish I could have taken there photo in a different area so I could have got some better background separation but this was better than nothing!
This guy was riding his bike and I asked him if I could get some photos of his 180, it’s been a long time since I’ve taken pics of somebody riding a bike! I miss riding bmx haha.
I saw this precious pair of people standing and looking out over the river, literally a picture perfect moment.
One of many cherry blossom photos I took.
I would have loved to get some proper portraits under the cherry blossom canopy!
Can’t forget the car pic! I’m getting a little impatient with this car still being stock, but patience is key…
Lastly, a cool shot of my friend. I like the mix of foreground and background separation. I want to take more portraits!!
