My friend Aileen invited me to go wine tasting this weekend and it was such a great time! The weather, wine, snacks and good company really blended together perfectly. She did all the planning which made it a lot easier on me since I have a hard time deciding on things when I have many options. This was also my first time wine tasting even though I had been wanting to try it out for a long time. Rutherford was the winery and Aileen picked up sandwiches from Giugni.
My friend Jess and I got there a little before our tasting which was scheduled for 1:30pm.
While we waited for our friends to arrive we were welcome with a couple glasses of a sparkly drink, no idea what it was called. I probably should have wrote it down.
Not too long after we got there the rest of our party arrived. Our drinks were all poured for us before we sat down which is covid protocol for tastings.
Our server did explain everything to us but it is a lot for me to take in so I just nodded and smiled.
Our little charcuterie board
After the tasting was over at 3pm, we went over to the picnic area to have our lunch which consisted of sandwiches, fruit, chips, dip and wine of course.
Somehow I got soooo full off all this stuff even though it was my first time eating for the day.
After eating we took some pics before we left.
On the way home we stopped by Gott’s Roadside for some milkshakes even though I was stuuuuffffed.
I got a coffee milkshake, yummmm
We relaxed for a while, enjoyed our shakes and went home safely! Definitely want to go wine tasting in the Napa area again.
